In other words, the machine didn't work as it should've at all. Not that it should come as a great surprise. It is supposed to be a prototype, after all.
Dammit. It was probably his millionth 'damn' mentally sent to Vegapunk and his stupid prototypes this past three months, not that he counted.
It wasn't his plan to be here, in this time, at all. He was going to go to the past very discreetly, to the time (and place, natually) just moments before Cora-san's death, to try and save his most cherished person. Without actually disrupting anything that happened just before - because he wasn't going to change his own past, no. After saving Corazon, he'd tell him what's going on and tell him it's imperative that he hides from everybody, Doflamingo (from obvious reasons) and his thirteen year self (because he wouldn't risk going into the past if he knew Corazon was alive) most of all.
He planned everything carefully. He'd save Cora-san after everybody else was gone already, so only he (current one, not the child he had been) and Cora would know.
Nothing in the past would have changed apart from the fact that Corazon would stay alive.
And then Law would go back to his time, and then
Then I'd be able to find and meet Cora-san again. Not immediately, perhaps, but someday. Nevermind that, above all--- Cora would be alive.]
